How much does a Tessan telemedicine consultation cost?
A telemedicine consultation with a general practitioner costs €25, compared to €30 in person. Reimbursement of up to 100% depending on your coverage.
Are telemedicine consultations covered by insurance?
Yes. Tessan telemedicine consultations are medical services covered by Medicare under the same conditions as in-person visits. Your health insurance plan may cover up to 100% of the out-of-pocket costs.
Who are the Tessan doctors?
All Tessan doctors are licensed and registered with the French Medical Council, trained in Tessan teleconsultations, and practicing in France. You can consult a general practitioner, a dermatologist, an ophthalmologist, a pediatrician, and other specialists.
How long does it take to see a doctor?
The average wait time is less than 20 minutes.
Where can I get medical care?
You can consult a general practitioner at a pharmacy or from home using the Tessan app. Specialists are available for consultation at pharmacies.
When can I see a doctor through Tessan?
Our doctors are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 7:45 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:45 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:45 PM (excluding holidays). For pharmacy services, hours also depend on the opening hours of your Tessan pharmacy. Check your pharmacy’s hours here.
Can I get a prescription or a sick note?
Yes. If the doctor deems it necessary, they can issue a prescription, a sick leave note, or order additional tests. The prescription is available immediately in your patient portal. As of the first quarter of 2024, the maximum duration of a sick leave note issued via telemedicine is 3 days. Only an initial sick leave note is permitted; extensions are not allowed.
Can I schedule a telemedicine appointment for my child?
Yes. Pediatricians and general practitioners are available for consultations regarding your children, ages 2 and up. You may accompany them during the consultation.
What's it like at the pharmacy?
Visit a participating Tessan pharmacy. Take a seat in the designated consultation area. The doctor will examine you remotely using connected medical devices (thermometer, dermatoscope, pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor, stethoscope, otoscope).
Is my medical information protected?
Yes. Tessan is a certified healthcare data hosting provider. Your data is stored in France and protected in accordance with the GDPR and the requirements of the healthcare regulatory framework. Our software is certified as a Class I medical device in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and registered as SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) in the European EUDAMED database. Tessan, as an augmented teleconsultation company, is also registered there as a manufacturer.
